Last week we hosted our Fall Harvest Gathering and WOW, what a turn out! We had planned to host the event outside of the Leland Library, but the weather had other plans. So we moved all the activities indoors and made the best of it.

The families of Leelanau showed up to celebrate our wonderful fall and we ended up with over 120 guests in attendance. Thanks to a lovely donation from Red Path Farms we had tons of delicious Honeycrisp apples to craft with, peel, sort, and enjoy! The Leland Library had 2 fun stations of apple activities, as well as a story time area.
We had fun activities ready to go when the event started at 10:30.

The first was a craft that involved using 1/2 an apple as a stamp. The kids painted the apple with orange paint and stamped it on to a prepared page full of pumpkin faces.

A second activity used colorful noodles and beads to create necklaces and bracelets.
A third activity involved 3 pumpkins, long golf tees, and small wooden hammers.

What a fun day! We hope to see you at our next community event!
