That doesn’t mean that we have to be perfect; the key is developing awareness to identify your needs, finding self-care strategies that work for you, and having compassion for yourself as you do so. Valuing your own mental health and the ability to feel emotionally stable is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your child.

It is important to ask for advice or help when needed. We are social beings, and strong connections with others are crucial for resilience. Surrounding yourself with a support network of friends, family, or support groups provides a sense of belonging, empathy, and understanding during tough times. Cultivating these relationships not only offers emotional support but also exposes you to diverse perspectives and coping strategies.

Finding strategies for coping is essential for resilience, allowing you to effectively manage stress and adversity. Developing healthy coping strategies involves identifying and practicing techniques that promote emotional well-being and mental strength. This can include activities like exercise, mindfulness, journaling, seeking therapy, or engaging in hobbies that bring joy and relaxation.
